June 2010

What a busy, yet exciting time ... this time of waiting and preparation for departure to West Africa!  God is opening doors where we never would have expected!  He presents times of opportunities, in which we only need to seize the moment!

As we continue visiting churches and folks who have supported us in doing the Lord's work in Guatemala, we regularly meet folks for whom missionary service is something abstract.  In those moments we are privileged to share God's story of love with them.  Even the local newspaper here in Cranbrook wrote an article on our past work in Guatemala and our upcoming work in Sierra Leone. You can read the article on-line at http://www.nelsondailynews.com/article/20100525/CRANBROOK0301/305259974/-1/CRANBROOK/working-to-bring-the-gift-of-water
Thus the Lord is using the media to open doors in even the local business community.  We have had a very positive response so far to the upcoming work in Sierra Leone.

Another example of God creating opportunity happened just the other week, during a convention of the Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) in our town.  After two or three evenings of attending, the CGMA president asked us, if we would like to present the work in Sierra Leone, West Africa.  Thus a venue presented itself to share with the artists as well as the attendees what the Lord has done and is doing through us.

It is our hope to be able to leave in September or October, depending on arranging sufficient funds to meet the required budget.  As of now, already over 65 % of the needed budget is raised and, in order to meet the complete budget, only $ 1000.00 per month are still required.

Would you consider contributing monthly to the outstanding needed fund? We sincerely pray you will.  Any amount will help.  All donations are tax deductible in both Canada and the USA.
