Africa - What an amazing continent!  Sierra Leone - What an  amazing country!  Beautiful people, loved by the Lord!  Yet, Sierra Leone has had a painful past.  Full of violence, hurt and greed in the recently ended rebel war portrayed in the movie "Blood Diamond".

After spending the entire month of February and part of March in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Charles arrived back home yesterday, with the possibility of Charles and myself moving there later on this year, after all our children have finished high school.

The reason he went to Sierra Leone was to preview life there as well as assist a short-term team with drilling a water well in Moribatown and Mokanji, both about six hour drive out of the capital city of Freetown and both with no services.

We would live in the Mokanji area, with Charles working to provide clean water through the drilling of wells as well as providing health care through the refurbishing  of a hospital, which was damaged and looted during the rebel war. Petra will be involved with teaching locals in public health and caring for patients at the hospital.
