“God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”. (Eph. 3:20)
During this year’s preparatory in-service week, we were encouraged and motivated to expect great things from the Lord, because HE is able to work through us in ways we don’t even imagine. Already Charles and I are seeing glimpses of God’s power at work within us.
Besides filling the role as maintenance director, Charles is a teacher as well. He teaches three different levels of auto shop classes on four different days (High School core class, High School elective class, Middle School elective class). He dismantles an old car and then rebuilds it with the students, so it will be fully functional at the end of this school year or next.
Besides teaching German as High School elective, I (Petra) use a Spanish/English Bible to point out some basic teachings and doctrines to one of the Guatemalan gate guards. He had received a “New World Translation” from the Jehovah Witnesses. I have explained to him why the NWT is a mistranslation, and given him a Gideon’s Spanish New Testament instead.
On two afternoons I also help out at a local clinic, about 5 minutes walk from the school campus. I work together with one of the doctors. When Dr. Jim examines the patient, I take time to listen to the afflicted person’s story. Yes, God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.
Since this fact is true, please pray for us as well.
Charles has a deformed hip joint, which is causing pain and discomfort when walking. He will need a replacement in the not too far off future. Also, he has a leaky heart valve, which needs to be repaired or replaced not too long from now either.
Please pray that:
1. God will provide a doctor (preferably State side), who will do those procedures.
2. That these operations will be cost efficient, or maybe even a donation.
3. That the recovery time will be short.
Or that God would miraculously heal him. That would be the easiest, most inexpensive, fastest and safest way. (Of course, it would be an amazing example of His provision as well.)
Again we encourage you to expect great things from God and attempt great things for Him, because He is able to do immeasurably, more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within you and me.
